Elders Iya Tahirah, Susanne Swibold and Puna Kalama speak to DeAnna L’am and Yael Zeligman-Merculieff of Wombs Beyond Border.
Womb or war ? What will it be?
Another war?? On top of the ones we already have in this world?? We have wars, against: other nations, other genders, other species, Mother Earth...
Only much easier to fight if we view them as "enemies", "threats" and/or "resources".
But when will we have enough??
When we win it all? What does winning look like?
Harm? or Harmony?
Fight? or Delight?
Competing? or Completing?
We often justify ourselves: "We had to go to war. There was no alternative. They left us no choice."
Well, instead of reacting to "them", maybe it's time we start creating an alternative.
The Elders say: "Nothing is created outside till it's created inside first."
Why, the alternative already exits in us: we all know it from within, because we've all been inside one, and some of us carry one in us:
A Womb.
The womb knows it is possible to have different parts coming together in unity to create something new, in the same space. Even contradictions (nausea and hunger), even different hearts and brains in a body that usually has just one of each. The womb knows how to extend and contain an other-self to the fullest; and though uncomfortable, that allows something that has never existed before, to begin to form in us, and eventually be born into the world.
If we don't dare dream of a world that is guided by the womb and abandons the concept of war,
we are dooming our children to be trapped in the nightmares of a world that does just the opposite.
The future is entrusted in wombs; and right now, the future of humanity is questioning us: Our next generations are asking us to dare do this for them.
Our wombs are calling.
